The year of George Orwell’s famous novel saw the start of UK Packaging Supplies Limited. This year also saw the foundation of Apple Computer, the maiden flight of the Space Shuttle, Margaret Thatchers Conservatives survived the IRA Brighton bombing of the Grand Hotel, the first CD Players were launched and genetic fingerprinting or DNA was introduced.
UK Packaging Supplies Limited was incorporated on the 11th October 1984 and has had a gradual, organic and progressive trading history since 1990. We have a current annual turnover in excess of £15 million which enables us, with our buying power, to extend excellent cost effective packaging solutions to all types of industries
UK Packaging Supplies Limited is one of the largest independently owned packaging materials merchants in the United Kingdom, we service an active customer base of 3000, covering mainly but not exclusively London and South East of England. The customer base is varied from small merchants to Blue Chip organisations. Our branding is trusted, recognisable and our reputation is strongly positive.
The company’s success is in no small part, as a result of the customer service culture that runs throughout the business. Our aim is to supply quality product at a reasonable price, within the timescale required, in the most efficient manner. The directors are actively involved in the day to day running of the business and employ a proactive and hands on approach. As well as producing an annual product catalogue we have enhanced our website and added online ordering and web based sales applications to work alongside our experienced and effective sales teams.
The aims for the future are to expand our product base, to grow and develop the business and its people, while maintaining the high standards that have helped to build the company into what it is today. We aim to continue to be a positive contributor to our economy and the community while respecting environmental issues.

Our main office warehouse and distribution facility is based in Tottenham, London.
Within easy reach of all major road networks our fleet of large trucks and smaller Sprinter vans can distribute, usually next day, to a wide area of London and the South East.
Vehicles are tracked and monitored to enable us to give a good indication of arrival times, perfect for clients running ‘Just in Time’ supply chains.

Environmental Policy
It is the policy of UK Packaging Supplies Limited to ensure that its activities are managed so as to minimise any impact on the environment, so far as is reasonably practicable.
In order to achieve this:
- The Company will manage its product range to ensure that products in the range do not cause unacceptable environmental damage through its receipt, storage, and use or disposal phases.
- The Company will develop the energy efficiency of its vehicle fleets, so far as is reasonably practicable. Future purchases and leases of vehicles will take account of the environmental impact of the models selected.
- The Company will aim to improve the energy efficiency of its premises. Existing buildings will be adapted where practicable to improve their energy efficiency. When considering future purchases or leases, account will be taken of the energy efficiency of the building, and of the energy costs involved in running those buildings.
- Wherever possible the Company will seek to minimise waste:
Through reduction in unnecessary consumption
Through purchasing recycled products and packaging for its own use
By sending used products and packaging to be recycled
Through reuse of packaging received.
- Employees at new sites will be encouraged to travel to work using environment friendly methods such as car sharing or use of public transport where practical.
- The Safety & Environmental Manager is responsible for assisting management to implement the Company’s Environmental Policy.
- The Company will comply with all UK environmental legislation.
- The Company will aim for continual improvement in order to lessen its impact on the environment

UK Packaging expands in 2010
We are pleased to announce that we have increased our warehouse capacity for 2010 to over 50,000 square feet.
This gives us even better storage facilities, enabling most orders to be fulfilled next day by our fleet of vehicles.
