The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2025/40, applies from 12 August 2026. It sets requirements for packaging placed on the market in the EU, including limits on certain substances and technical documentation.

UK Packaging Supplies can provide documentation on the packaging we supply, to help customers meet their own obligations. Ask us at compliance@ukplc.co.uk.

Does it affect you?

It depends on where your packed goods go. The Regulation applies in the EU, and in Northern Ireland under the Windsor Framework. Packaging that stays within Great Britain is outside it, though UK rules such as extended producer responsibility still apply.

If you ship to the EU or Northern Ireland, or your customers do, you may need information about the packaging you buy from us.

Our role

We supply packaging and provide the information you need about it. Where we make or convert an item ourselves, such as bespoke cartons, our documents say so.

When you pack and ship your goods, the obligations for that packed product are usually yours. Our documents support your own assessment; they do not replace it.

What we can provide

  • Conformity statements for our stock ranges, such as cartons, tapes, pallet wrap and mailers, setting out the manufacturer evidence we hold.
  • A supplier information pack for your account, covering the items you buy from us.
  • A plain-English explainer on what the Regulation asks of businesses like yours.

Documents are based on evidence from the manufacturers we buy from.

How to ask

Email compliance@ukplc.co.uk with your company name or account number, and tell us:

  1. Which items you need covered — product codes if you have them, or say “everything we buy”.
  2. Where your packed goods go — Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the EU, or elsewhere.
  3. Whether any of the packaging touches food.

These three answers let us send the right documents first time.

Keeping documents current

Our documents carry a reference, version and date. When a manufacturer’s evidence changes, we update the document and the version number moves on. If you rely on one of our documents, check you hold the latest version before you use it.
